NOOTKA SAUNAS

Limited Warranty Policy

Applicable to Nootka Sauna Rooms, Heaters, Controllers, LED Lights, and Harvia M3 Wood-Burning Stoves

1. Warranty Overview

Nootka Saunas stands behind the quality of every product we build. This Limited Warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for all Nootka sauna rooms, electric heaters, controllers, LED lights, and Harvia M3 wood-burning stoves.

No product registration is required. To make a warranty claim, you will need your original proof of purchase (receipt, order confirmation, or invoice) and delivery confirmation.

2. Warranty Coverage by Tier

Year 1 — Full Coverage (Parts and Shipping)

During the first twelve (12) months from the original date of delivery, Nootka Saunas will repair or replace any Nootka sauna room component, heater, controller, or LED light found to have a manufacturing defect. This includes both the cost of the replacement part and all shipping charges.

Nootka Saunas will always attempt a repair first. A full replacement will only be issued if, in Nootka Saunas' sole determination, the product cannot be restored to proper working condition through repair.

Turnaround time for repairs under Year 1 coverage is targeted at 10–14 business days from the date we receive the product or component at our facility.

Year 2 — Parts Only (Customer Covers Shipping)

During months thirteen (13) through twenty-four (24) from the original date of delivery, Nootka Saunas will provide replacement parts at no charge for manufacturing defects. The customer is responsible for shipping both ways (if required) during Year 2.

Installation and any electrician or contractor fees are the responsibility of the customer during Year 2 coverage.

Years 3–5 — Sauna Structure Only (Limited Structural Coverage)

From months twenty-five (25) through sixty (60) from the original date of delivery, warranty coverage applies exclusively to the Nootka sauna room structure for the following defects:

  • Penetrative wood rot (rot that extends fully through a board)
  • Broken window or door glass (due to manufacturing defect, not impact or misuse)
  • Rust or corrosion on the roof structure or metal roofing components

If a qualifying structural defect is confirmed, Nootka Saunas will provide the replacement part, component, or material at no charge. This coverage excludes shipping, which is the customer's responsibility.

Heaters, controllers, and LED lights are not covered under Years 3–5.

Harvia M3 Wood-Burning Stove and Chimney — 1-Year Coverage

The Harvia M3 wood-burning stove and chimney are covered for one (1) year from the original date of delivery against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. This includes parts and shipping.

Nootka Saunas will always attempt a repair first. A replacement will only be issued if the stove or chimney component cannot be restored to proper working condition.

Harvia M3 Window Glass

The glass window on the Harvia M3 is not covered under warranty for breakage that occurs after delivery. In our experience, window glass breakage is most commonly caused by using logs that are too long for the firebox.

The only exception is glass that arrives damaged or broken at the time of delivery. In this case, the customer must report the damage within seven (7) days of delivery to be eligible for a replacement.

After Year 1, the Harvia M3 stove and chimney are not covered under any warranty tier.

Accessories — 1-Year Warranty

Sauna Accessories

Nootka Saunas accessories — including towel hooks, buckets and ladles, thermometers, hygrometers, headrests, backrests, and other branded accessories — are covered by a one (1) year warranty from the original date of delivery against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. This includes parts and shipping.

Cosmetic wear, natural patina on wood accessories, and damage resulting from misuse or improper care are not covered. After Year 1, accessories are not covered under any warranty tier.

3. How to Make a Warranty Claim

We've designed our warranty process to be straightforward. Most issues can be resolved quickly, often without returning any products. Here is how the process works:

1
Contact Nootka Saunas Support

Reach out to our customer support team at support@nootkasaunas.com. Have your proof of purchase ready and provide a description of the issue.

2
Video Diagnostic Call

For most issues, we will schedule a video call with you to visually inspect the product, walk through basic troubleshooting, and determine the cause of the problem.

3
Repair or Replacement Determination

If the video call does not resolve the issue, Nootka Saunas will determine, at our sole discretion, whether a repair or replacement is needed.

4
Shipping and Fulfillment

If parts or products need to be shipped, Nootka Saunas covers all shipping costs during Year 1. During Year 2 and Years 3–5, the customer is responsible for shipping.

Important: Nootka Saunas does not cover the cost of any electrician, contractor, or tradesperson fees related to troubleshooting, diagnostics, removal, or reinstallation at any point during the warranty period.

Electrician Contact Requirement for Electrical Claims

For any warranty claim related to the electrical components of the sauna system — including the heater, controller, LED lights, and all associated wiring — Nootka Saunas requires that we be put in direct contact with the licensed electrician who completed the original installation.

Nootka Saunas reserves the right to refuse a warranty claim if we are unable to be put in contact with the electrician who completed the installation.

4. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover the following, regardless of the warranty tier:

  • Heating elements, which are classified as consumable components subject to normal degradation over time.
  • Cosmetic damage, including scratches, dents, scuffs, or surface marks that do not affect the function or structural integrity of the product.
  • Normal wear and tear resulting from regular sauna use.
  • Mold, mildew, water marks, or moisture-related staining on wood surfaces.
  • Sun damage, UV discoloration, or fading of wood or exterior surfaces.
  • Natural wood characteristics, including surface checking (small cracks along the grain), minor wood movement, seasonal expansion and contraction, knots, and grain variation.
  • The cost of any electrician, contractor, or tradesperson for diagnostic testing, wiring, rewiring, installation, reinstallation, troubleshooting, or any related service.
  • Harvia M3 window glass breakage occurring after delivery. Glass damage is most commonly caused by using logs that are too long for the firebox. The only exception is damage present at the time of delivery, which must be reported within seven (7) days.

5. What Voids the Warranty

The warranty is void in its entirety if any of the following conditions apply:

  • The product was installed by anyone other than a licensed, certified electrician (for all electrical work on the heater, controller, LED lights, and associated wiring).
  • The product is used in a commercial setting when it was purchased and sold for residential use.
  • The product has been modified, tampered with, or altered in any way not expressly authorized by Nootka Saunas.
  • Unauthorized repairs have been performed by any party other than Nootka Saunas or a Nootka-authorized service provider.
  • Non-approved sauna rocks or accessories have been used with the heater. Only igneous rocks approved by Nootka Saunas are permitted.
  • The product has not been maintained in accordance with the guidelines provided in the Nootka Saunas installation manual and user guide.
  • Damage was caused by electrical surges, power spikes, improper electrical supply, or use of GFCI breakers (which are not compatible with Nootka heaters).
  • Damage was caused by excessive water being poured directly onto or into the heater beyond normal sauna use.

6. Reasonable Use

All warranty claims are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Nootka Saunas reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to determine what constitutes reasonable use and to deny a claim if the product has been subjected to conditions outside of normal residential sauna use.

7. General Terms

  • This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
  • Warranty coverage begins on the date of delivery as shown on the delivery confirmation or tracking record.
  • No product registration is required. Proof of purchase and delivery confirmation must be provided for all warranty claims.
  • Nootka Saunas' liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective product or component. Under no circumstances shall Nootka Saunas be liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages.
  • This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights that vary by province or state.
