Cube Sauna
Overview
The Nootka Cube is the rectangular, two-tier outdoor sauna for buyers who want a more traditional Finnish room layout. It comfortably seats 5 adults in a compact ~6'5" × 8' footprint, with a large tempered window, Western Red Cedar construction, and electric heat only (no wood-stove option). The base build — shell, Nootka 9 kW heater, high-performance black metal roof, and 30" × 60" tempered window — starts at $13,250 USD / $14,500 CAD. Heat-up is typically about 25 minutes to 90°C (194°F), depending on outdoor ambient temperature. Trusted by Fairmont, Westin, and Four Seasons.

Electrical
The Cube ships with a Nootka 9 kW electric heater on 240V with a 50A non-GFI breaker, hardwired by a licensed electrician. Nootka electric heaters conform to CSA C22.2 No. 164-2018 and UL 875. Permits are the customer’s responsibility.
Heat-up
Expect about 25 minutes to 90°C, depending on outdoor ambient temperature. That is slower than Nootka barrels (typically 10–15 minutes electric) because of the Cube’s larger/taller volume and two-tier room.
Warranty
Same Limited Warranty Policy as Nootka barrels — structure coverage through year 5; heater and controller years 1–2. See the warranty page.

Cube vs barrels
- Same Western Red Cedar and Pacific Northwest craft as the barrels; higher price for the two-tier social room.
- Electric only — no Harvia M3 wood path on the Cube.
- Choose the Cube for upper-bench Finnish layout and five-person seating; choose an 8ft barrel for faster heat-up and a lower entry price.
Common questions
- Why is it slower than a barrel? Larger/taller volume and two-tier benches — typically ~25 min vs ~10–15 for barrels.
- Wood-fired Cube? Not offered. For wood heat, choose a 10ft barrel.
- Cube or 8ft barrel? Cube for Finnish two-tier seating; 8ft barrel for speed and value.
- What heater? Nootka Saunas 9 kW electric, included in the base build.
