10ft Barrel Sauna
Overview
The Nootka 10ft barrel is the hosting and wood-fired size: up to 6+ people with electric heat. Same Western Red Cedar build as the 8ft, with electric heat-up typically about 10–15 minutes to 90°C (194°F) and wood about 30–45 minutes, both depending on outdoor ambient temperature. Shell pricing starts at about $7,900 USD / $9,350 CAD before options and fulfillment. Ships in two crates when flat-packed. Trusted by Fairmont, Westin, and Four Seasons. Best pick when you regularly host or when a wood stove would eat too much bench space in an 8ft.

Electrical
Same as the 8ft: 240V hardwire by a licensed electrician; 9 kW on a 50A non-GFI breaker or 7.5 kW on 40A. Nootka electric heaters conform to CSA C22.2 No. 164-2018 and UL 875. Power draw difference between 8ft and 10ft on the same heater class is negligible.
Heat-up & use
Same heat-up bands as the 8ft. The wood stove is floor-mounted and extends about 30" from the rear wall, reducing usable bench versus wall-mounted electric (~18" off the rear wall). Nootka strongly encourages the 10ft for wood-burning buyers.
Warranty
Same Limited Warranty Policy as the 8ft barrel — see the warranty page.

Why choose the 10ft
Same in-house Pacific Northwest cedar build as the 8ft, with extra length for hosting and for wood heat without losing most of the bench.
Common questions
- 8ft or 10ft? Choose 10ft for hosting or a wood stove.
- Does the 10ft need more power? No — power draw difference vs the 8ft on the same heater class is negligible.
- Assembly time? Builder assembly about 5–6 hours; DIY is typically a weekend with two people.
- Metal roof? Optional; improves weather protection and is described as about 20% faster heat-up.
